Who should attend

Introductory to intermediate course in clastic sequence stratigraphy for geologists, geophysicsts and engineers with basic sedimentological knowledge. Specific features and processes of clastic deposition are briefly introduced/repeated at the beginning of the course. No prior experience in sequence stratigraphy is required. Basic knowledge in well log and seismic interpretation is useful. The course includes full 2 days of exercises in sequence stratigraphic interpretation. The course language is English.

Optional field trip
This course can be extended with a 4-5 day field trip to the Pyrenees southern foreland basin of northeastern Spain, where Tertiary clastic depositional systems from alluvial to turbidite fan are exposed in a spectacular way. The field trip focuses on sequence stratigraphic interpretation in the field.
