On the 71th Conference and Exhibition  of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE)  in Amsterdam (June 8-11), GeoResources members MSc Eva Lewandowski and MSc Jorham Contreras will give two poster presentations.

The poster “Sedimentary Basin Analysis and Numerical Modeling, Paleozoic Southern Algeria” will be presented by E. Lewandowski on June 10th, 14:30 h. Coauthors are R. Zühlke, T. Bechstädt (GeoResources), M. Böckmann, V. Lampart, T. Leythäuser, V. Sauerland and B. Wirth (RWE Dea AG, Hamburg).

The poster “Seismo-Stratigraphic Interpretation and Basin Modeling of the Southern Brazilian Margin” will be presented by J. Contreras on June 11th, 13:30 h. Coauthors are R. Zühlke, T. Bechstädt (GeoResources) and S. Bowman (BHPBiliton Inc., Houston).

Further GeoResources´ members will attend the meeting in Amsterdam.

On the 6th Annual Conference of the Society for Sedimentary Geology/Central European Section (SEPM/CES) in Cracow (June 24-25), GeoResources members Dr. Hartmut Jäger, MSc Eva Lewandowski, MSc Axel Wenke and HD Dr. Rainer Zühlke will give four oral presentations.

On May 12th 2009, GeoResources deputy director Dr. Rainer Zühlke will speak at the “Plate Reconstruction and Play Concepts Workshop” in Halifax, Canada. The workshop, which will take place between May 11-13, is sponsored by the Offshore Energy Technical Research (OETR) Association andRPS Energy .

Topic of the talk will be basin analysis and numerical modeling of the northwest African Central Atlantic continental margin and sequence stratigraphy of the Triassic to recent basin fill.

OETR is a non-profit association dedicated to fostering geoscience research that will
enhance petroleum exploration and development in offshore Nova Scotia. The
Association works in partnership with the Nova Scotia Department of Energy, Dalhousie
University and Saint Mary’s University. Twenty experts from industry and university will take part in the workshop.
